I revisited my Little Liberty character a few days ago and came up with this new illustration. I wanted a do a lazy summertime day idea so I quickly sketched her out and threw it in photoshop to re-draw and make look pretty. Im going to do a Little Liberty Illustration series so be on the lookout for that, I think this one came out pretty great.

Watch the Sky is my first painting of 2012. In many ways this painting had to take everything I'd done within the Shards style to over the past few years and capture it all in one instance of swirling madness. Ive been in love with monochromatic Shards since I painted Black Ops and wanted to return to that on this brightly colored background.

"Solitude"

"Solitude". 2011, 40x50 on beveled canvas. Acrylic, enamel and collage.

Solitude is my last painting of 2011. I really wanted to project the image of 1 single Shard in 3-D space (everything's 3-D these days) as an experiment in my style. The lighting and shadows had to be correct to give off the proper feel. I think it came out beautifully and the collage elements in the background help to ground the image .  

I added invisible "interference" Shards all over. You cant see if when looking at the painting straight on, but as you move from left to right you will be able to pick up the subtle color shifts.

One of last paintings of 2011, this was the first exploration in taking my Shards into 3-D forms. This piece has a lot of texture to replicate an old wall thats been covered multiple times with graff and posters.
